Erma Abercrombie, 102, of Coal Center, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2020. She was born Monday, Nov. 19, 1917, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Martin and Louise Brigode Dietz. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle, Charleroi campus. She was a 74-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Charleroi Court No. 669. In addition to her parents Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Abercrombie (1998); two sisters, Irene Dietz and Ruth Grier; one brother, Martin (Mutt) Dietz and a grandson, Brian Abercrombie. Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Kathy Abercrombie of Coal Center and Martin and Gail Abercrombie of Elco. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Susan Abercrombie and her significant other, John Triggiani, Kristie Abercrombie and husband Michael Ritchey, Jeff Abercrombie and wife Amanda; and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas, Landon and Logan. Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, and until 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Andrew the Apostle, Charleroi campus, 624 Washington Ave., Charleroi. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
