Patricia A. “Pat” Sandis, 76, of Donora, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at Mon Valley Care Center, Carroll Township. She was born in North Charle- roi on April 10, 1943, a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Skorvan Marflak. Pat was the food service manager for Madonna Catholic Regional School for several years. Catholic by faith, she was a longtime member of the former St. Dominic Christian Mothers and a CCD teacher at the former Our Lady of the Valley Parish. Pat enjoyed watching QVC and playing bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Sandis in 2003; and three brothers, Ronald Marflak, Albert Marflak and the Rev. Father Albert Marflak, O.S.B. She is survived by two daughters, Katherine (Clarence) Simpson and Michelle (William) Davis; one son, John (Sylvia) Sandis; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank (Celeste) Marflak of Illinois; and two sisters, Mary Ann Hull of Donora and Helen Marflak of Monongahela; sister-in-law, Carmen Marflak of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. Entombment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Western Region, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA15205-4620.
