A Donora man jailed on homicide charges last year is facing new charges from Elizabeth borough police stemming from an alleged crime spree across two states.

Brian E. Lyon II, 38, was charged with one felony count of theft by unlawful taking and one felony count of receiving stolen property for an alleged incident Sept. 23, police said. Charges were filed Monday at the office of Magisterial District Judge Beth Mills in Forward Township.

According to a police criminal complaint, Diana Hale reported her vehicle was stolen in front of Mama Pepino’s pizza shop on Plum Street in Elizabeth. Police said Lyon was seen stealing the vehicle on video surveillance taken from the pizza shop and the nearby Masonic lodge.

Four days later, Elizabeth police were notified that state police had Lyon in custody as well as the stolen vehicle. State police confirmed Lyon’s identity after reviewing the video surveillance, according to the complaint.
