Dale Allan Breakiron, 81, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 at Havencrest Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Monongahela. He was born in West Newton on May 20, 1938, the son of the late Walter Breakiron and the late Marion Lowe Breakiron. He was a member of Calvary United Presbyterian Church in Donora for more than 56 years where he was a trustee and ordained an elder in 1970. He was a tenor soloist and choir member and later became the choir director in 1988. Dale received a degree in cosmetology at Franco Beauty Academy in Pittsburgh in 1957. He worked there until he opened his own beauty salon on Fifth Avene. and Smithton Street in 1960. In 1963, he took a job in the Adoria Salon at Kaufmann’s Department Store in Pittsburgh. He received advanced degrees in hair styling at Coiffeur Creation Academy in 1966 and 1976. Dale also studied singing and played drums and the guitar. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at which time services will begin with the Rev.
