Vulcans pummel Fighting Scots, 108-71

Just 1:56 into its PSAC West showdown with Edinboro on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center, the Cal U men’s basketball team was in an 11-0 hole.

But there was no panic from the Vulcans when it came to the double-digit deficit. There was still plenty of time left in the game.

Cal got its offense going the rest of the way, making a series of runs that Edinboro couldn’t respond to as the Vulcans secured a 108-71 triumph for their third straight win.

“They didn’t panic out there on the floor,” Cal coach Danny Sancomb said. “I might have been panicking a little bit in my head. But in all honesty, Edinboro made some contested shots and I knew there was plenty of time for us to make a run. We just needed to get our shots and to make a couple of runs. Basketball is a game of runs.”
