Monessen Councilman Anthony Orzechowski plans to ask council member Don Gregor and City Administrator John Harhai to step down from their positions in light of their work relationship and an alleged conflict of interest.

Harhai previously served on the board of directors for Grandview Cemetery, where Gregor works, though Harhai informed The Mon Valley Independent that he relinquished his position on the board Thursday.

“There’s no conflict,” Harhai said. “There never was. I volunteered my time and now I just won’t volunteer my time.”

Harhai said as an unpaid volunteer on the board, he only met with other board members once a year.
