Bond was modified Thursday for a teen being charged as an adult in the beating of a Monongahela man in December.

Judge John DiSalle increased bond for Jamie Watkins from $25,000 to $150,000 straight cash. The 14-year-old boy has been held at the Washington County Correctional Facility since being ordered to be tried as an adult Dec. 27 by Magisterial District Judge Traci McDonald.

Watkins, who lives on Walnut Street in Donora, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary. Watkins also faces charges of conspiracy to commit homicide, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit burglary, terroristic threats, using an offensive weapon, possessing instruments of crime, obstruction of law enforcement and recklessly endangering another person.

DiSalle also ordered Watkins to undergo a mental health evaluation while incarcerated, as well as a drug and alcohol evaluation with no release to drug or alcohol treatment without further order.
