James Ross, 89, of Charleroi, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019 in UPMC Mercy Hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Monongahela, the son of the late James and Sue Revetta Ross. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim was a member of the Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in Charleroi. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed dancing. Jim retired from Corning Glass works, Charleroi plant. He is survived by his daughter, Marsha Fragello and husband Palmer of Donora; his son, James J. Ross and wife Carol of Warrington; his granddaughter, Melissa; brother, John “Jack” Coulter and wife Anita of Monongahela; sister, Donna Lenygel of Monongahela; sister-in-law, Shirley Ross of North Charleroi; and his companion, Sue Daniel. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Marchenetti Ross; a brother, John J. Ross; and two sisters, Carmel DeLattre and Gloria Grant. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery with full military rites.
