Barbara Alatsis – Monessen

Barbara Alatsis, 80, of Monessen, passed away on Dec. 28, 2019, in the Hallsworth House of Monessen. She was born on Oct. 13, 1939, in Monessen, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Milasincic. Barbara was Catholic by faith and had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the former St. Anthony’s Church of Monessen. She had enjoyed spending time with her husband in their mutual hobbies of woodworking and carving decoys. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rosie, Matt, Joe, Rudy and Kay, in addition to her husband, Theodore Alatsis. Surviving are her son, John Alatsis of Columbus Ohio; daughter, Lara Alatsis of Clairton; siblings, Nick, Marie and Caroline; and her sister-in-law, Katherine Alatsis of Monessen. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery of Monessen. Barbara’s family would like to thank the management and staff of the Hallsworth House for their exceptional care for her over her tenure there.
