Wyvratt, Peccon lead Ringgold past Scotties

Ringgold continued its winning ways as it rolled over Southmoreland, 69-50, in the nightcap on the second day of action of the CFSBank Holiday Classic at Charleroi High School Friday.

While it was their first game since before Christmas, the Rams (6-1) never missed a beat en route to their sixth consecutive victory. 

Luke Wyvratt and Chris Peccon led the way on the offensive end, scoring 20 and 18 points, respectively.

Despite the blowout win and impressive individual performances, the Rams lost yet another starter to injury as senior Nate Pajak went down early with an apparent ankle injury, joining teammate Ben Lawrence on the injured reserve.

“You know, whoever steps into that starting role has got to hold their own, they can’t shy away because it’s gonna be a big game,” said Ringgold head coach Phil Pergola. “Tonight, I think we shot the ball very well, but at times we played good defense and at other times we didn’t. We have a hard time adjusting, changing our offense on the run, and we don’t communicate well enough on the floor, and you could see that late in the first half.”
