William Keith ‘Butch’ Barber Jr. – Twilight

William Keith “Butch” Barber Jr., 79, of Twilight, passed away on Dec. 25, 2019, at Monongahela Valley Hospital with his family by his side. Keith was born on Aug. 31, 1940, in North Charleroi, son of the late William Sr. and Naomi Jones Barber. After graduating from Charleroi High School, Mr. Barber enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country honorably. After his time in the U.S. Navy, Keith attended California State College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in industrial arts. For many years, he was the director of therapeutic activities at Torrance State Hospital, where he eventually retired. Following his retirement, he was a bus driver for the Charleroi Area School District. In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joanne Patton Barber. Keith is survived by his sons, Keith (Kim) Barber of Belle Vernon and Lynn (Donna) Barber of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; his daughter, Toni (Tom) Hartman of Fayette City; his sister, Betsy Franceschi of Charlotte N.C.; and his five grandchildren, Jacob, Jesse, Jordan and Jared Hartman and Brandon Barber. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 31, 2019, in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
