Suzanne Duda, 67, of Fayette City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, in Jefferson Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on Dec. 19, 1952, in Charleroi, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Sara “Sally” Stewart. Suzanne was a life-long resident of Fayette City and actively involved with children throughout her life. She served as a cheerleading coach for the Fayette City Bulldogs for many years and later served as the cheerleading coach for the Bellmar Blue Knights. Suzanne also served as leader for the Girl Scouts of America. Suzanne absolutely loved and adored her six grandchildren, and very rarely missed an activity or event where one of them were involved. Suzanne worked at Hills Department Store and G.C. Murphy’s in Belle Vernon for many years. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank Duda; two daughters, Kimberly (Dan) Kovatch and Aimee (Wade) Haney; six grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler and Trevor Kovatch and Dylan, Jake, and Jessa Haney; one brother, Dennis Lunt; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert Stewart, Jay Smith, Don Lunt, John Lunt, Art Lunt and Bill Lunt; and five sisters, Andrea Smalley, Vivian Hoover, Elaine Ambler, Ellen Smith and Darlene Smalley. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at ELEY-MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at the funeral home with Elder Thomas Hamer officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
