Taxpayers in Monongahela will not see an increase next year.

At a special meeting Friday, council unanimously passed a $3.2 million budget for 2020 that includes $1.1 million for public affairs; $1.3 million for accounts and finance; $209,000 for public safety; $472,852 for streets and improvements and $112,450 for parks and property.

Council is expected to finish out the year with a $3,600 surplus.

Mayor Bob Kepics, councilmen Ken Kulak, Daryl Miller and Rusty Polonoli and Councilwoman Claudia Williams all voted in favor of the spending plan.

Kulak, who serves as director of finance, said the budget was slightly modified from the original plan posted earlier this month to reflect salary changes, but otherwise remained the same.

Williams was the lone no vote for a modification to the salary for the chief of police, which was changed to include his new position with an hourly rate.

Millage will hold the same at 7 mills, with each mill generating approximately $175,000.
