Pitt is it for Belle Vernon Area kicker/punter Cam Guess.

Guess, one of the top kickers in the nation, announced his commitment to continue his academic and football careers at the University of Pittsburgh on Nov. 20.

He signed his national letter of intent last week.

“The offer from Pitt came in about a week before my official commitment,” said Guess, who had additional offers from Penn State, West Virginia, Toledo, Kent State and San Diego State.

Since Guess was committed to stay close to home, his top three were Pitt, Penn State and WVU. “For me, Pitt was the dream,” Guess added. “My family is super supportive, so being at a school close to home and having them attend my games was definitely a deciding factor. My dad also went to Pitt, as do my older brothers, Jared and Jackson, so it felt pretty natural since I grew up a supporter of the university.”
