Bus to Bethlehem brightened Christmas

The Mon Valley community has stepped up and proven their Christmas spirit through its generosity and support of a local toy initiative.

Thanks to a collaboration of St. Sebastian Regional Catholic School in North Belle Vernon and Connect Inc., an affiliate of Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services Inc., Christmas was a little brighter for more than 150 children in the area because of area support of the Bus to Bethlehem project.

In its second year, the program provides gifts for children in need throughout Washington, Greene and Westmoreland counties.

The groups worked together to create a list of more than 100 names from Connect Inc. housing programs and the Washington Family Center.

Connect Inc. provides a full range of services for the homeless, near-homeless and low-income individuals, children and families in the three-county area.
