It started with a simple Facebook post, one that has been making the rounds in community groups, but it really seemed to take off in the “All About Elizabeth Forward Area” page.
“What is one thing you NEED that you cannot afford right now? Let’s check and see what others say. Maybe you have it and don’t need it? Or maybe you have a connection to get it? I saw this on another community page and it was amazing some of the kindness that was shown.”
This is the post Devie Rollison of Elizabeth Township made on Dec. 11. It received more than 560 responses, many of them matching needs and those who could meet them. Another 13 people shared the post, magnifying the potential impact exponentially.
“My friend Jacki Von Thun posted that on her site and I thought ‘This is so great, I’m going to steal it,’ and I posted it on the All About Elizabeth Forward Area page,” Rollison said.
Rollison never anticipated the response the post would attract.
