When looking for a landing spot to continue playing soccer and continue his academic path, Belle Vernon Area star and 2019 Mon Valley Independent-BeeGraphix Fab 15 Boys Player of the Year Niko Apodiakos hit the jackpot.

Apodiakos officially signed his national letter of intent to continue his education and playing days at nearby Seton Hill University in Greensburg.

A Division II school competing in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the Griffins were 7-10-1 overall and 3-6-1 in conference play this season under head coach Dan McCarty.

He chose Seton Hill over Penn State-Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg.

For Apodiakos, who will major in cybersecurity, committing to play at Seton Hill was a no-brainer.

“It was definitely the best fit for my major,” Apodiakos said. “I knew I wanted to pursue a degree in cybersecurity and Seton Hill has an excellent program.”
