A Donora man is in the Washington County Correctional Facility after being charged with injuring his 4-week-old daughter, causing her to be taken to two local hospitals.

Karrington Lewis, 22, who resides in the 900 block of Koehler Avenue in Donora is charged by Donora Police with three counts of aggravated assault and one count each of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children after an alleged incident Nov. 9, police said.

Lewis is being held after failing to post $100,000 bail. A warrant for his arrest was issued Tuesday, and he was arrested Wednesday.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Lewis was home alone with the child after the girl’s mother left for work around 7 a.m.

Police say at some point the infant became fussy and started to cry. Lewis was unable to calm his daughter and became frustrated.
