The financial budgets of three local nonprofits got a big boost on Wednesday thanks to #1 Cochran Toyota in North Huntingdon.
The dealership donated a combined total of $56,445, which was split up between White Oak Animal Safe Haven, North Huntingdon-based Beverly’s Birthday’s and the Norwin School District Community Fund, each receiving checks worth $18,815.
The dealership’s general sales manager Nolan Brink said #1 Cochran Toyota sets aside a set dollar amount from each car sold and then gives that money back to charity.
“We really grew the store this year and the community has really embraced us over the past year,” Brink said. “Because of that I talked to my boss and we were able to open up our donations to three organizations this year.
“We’re very glad to be able to help.”
WOASH founder Ina Jean Marton accepted the donation on Thursday. She said some of the $18,815 the no-kill shelter received is going to be used to pay for veterinarian bills and to purchase food and supplies.
