Elizabeth A. Johnson, 96, of Donora, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 at the Hallsworth House, Monessen. She was born in Donora on March 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Blynar Terek. A woman of strong faith, Mrs. Johnson was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora for many years and was very active in the church. Elizabeth held several jobs in her lifetime. In her younger years, she worked as a car-hop waitress for Eat ’n Park, also at Corning Glass Works and during World War II was employed as a rod inspector for the Donora Mill. Mrs. Johnson loved to bowl, walk, visit with friends and was always outgoing. She loved everybody who was in her life and thanked God everyday for her blessings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet Johnson in 1996; four brothers, John, Michael, Edward and Joseph Terek; and one sister, Marie Span. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Robert) Malmgren of Coal Center and her son, Robert Belock of Minnesota; three grandchildren, Bryan Malmgren, Robert Malmgren and Elizabeth (Kent) Andersen; one great-grandson, Jacob; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, 724-379-6900, where family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2019. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church, Donora.
