Funeral services were held for Austin S. Gillingham Jr., 85, of New Eagle, who died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, in Southwestern Assisted Care. Born Sept. 14, 1934, in Webster, he was the son of Austin Sr. and Sarah Dunn Gillingham. A graduate of the former Rostraver High School, Austin worked for 36 years at the former Mathies Coal Mine until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Janet Antenucci Gillingham, whom he married in 1957; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Douglas and Lisa Gillingham of Richmond, Va., and David and Debra Gillingham of Munhall; a daughter, Diane Gillingham of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Grace Lazzari of Florida; a grandson, Mark (Sarah) Gillingham; and two great-grandsons, Cannon and Colt Gillingham. Interment was held in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, was in charge of the arrangements.
