Gladiators top Charleroi for McPherson’s first win

The South Allegheny girls gave first-year coach Leslie McPherson her first win on the sidelines with a 51-48 non-section win at Charleroi.

Jamie Riggs (15) and Madison Kirkwood (10) combined for 25 points to lead the way for the Gladiators (1-2).

Bella Skobel led the Cougars (2-2) with a game-high 28 points, nearly leading her team to a come-from-behind win late.

Both teams kick off section play tonight with the Gladiators opening Section 3-3A play at Deer Lakes. The Cougars start Section 2-3A play on the road at Waynesburg Central.
