Rams use big third quarter effort to topple Cougars

In a clash between a pair of Mon Valley girls basketball teams, one squad got a really nice tune-up, while the other team may have taken a big step back Monday night.
Ringgold used a balanced scoring attack and avoided early foul trouble in drubbing Charleroi, 50-28, in the Rams home opener.
The Cougars (2-1), who won their tip-off tournament this past weekend, could not take advantage at the charity stripe and got most of their scoring from one player. Bella Skobel led all scorers with 19 points but could not get scoring help from her teammates.
