Monessen’s Pasta Shoppe almost ready to reopen

After shuttering its doors for weeks due to sewage problems, a new and updated version of The Pasta Shoppe will be ready to serve Monessen again soon.

The renovated space will feature a new menu, updated lighting, seating and a fresh paint job.

In addition, new hours of operation are planned. The bar/restaurant has been open until 2 a.m. in the past, but it may now close at 10 p.m. to align with more traditional restaurant hours.

Russell Johnson, who is at the helm of the renovation and rebranding efforts, has 20 years of experience in food service. He is married to the niece of Pasta Shoppe co-owner Sherri Fertall and said he has helped with the family business throughout the years, but never as a full-time employee.
