Holiday atmosphere at Festival of Trees

Although there’s no snow on the ground, McKeesport’s Renziehausen Park feels like a winter wonderland this week.

That’s because the city’s 34th annual Festival of Trees, held at the Jacob Woll (Main) Pavilion on Sycamore Drive, began Thursday.

There’s a $2 admission fee for the festival, which runs from noon to 9 p.m. each day through Monday. Kids 12 and younger who bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to area food banks will be admitted for free.

The kick-off festivities began with White Oak/McKeesport Girl Scouts of America Troop 58112 belting out Christmas carols to usher Santa into the park on a city fire truck.
