Ringgold School Board welcomed in a new member and appointed a former member to fill an empty seat during its meeting Wednesday.
Harley Bobnar, who was elected to two board seats in November — a two-year and a four-year seat — accepted the four-year position and was sworn in.
Two incumbents — Gail Glaneman and Jason Gerard — did not win re-election, earning 2,508 and 2,350 votes respectively.
The board chose to appoint Gerard to the empty two-year seat. Gerard said he was thankful to have another opportunity to continue making progress with the board.
Bill Stein, who won re-election in addition to Maureen Ott and Gene Kennedy, said he wanted to thank Glaneman for her service.
“I want to thank Mrs. Glaneman for her service to this school board and the children of this school district,” Stein said. “She deserves a round of thanks for that. It’s not easy being a board director…She did well by this district.”
