James Thurman Larkin Sr., age 79, gracefully returned home with the Lord on Dec. 3, 2019. James was born Oct. 28, 1940, to parents Dorothy Loving Larkin and William Larkin Sr. He served in the military for six years as a distinguished member of the 110th Infantry National Guard and was employed by the United States steel mill for over 42 years. Shortly after joining the mill, he married the love of his life, Pastor Lois Larkin, whom he remained intensely devoted to for more than 59 years. Together, they had six children: Sharon “Boonie” Larkin (Paul Jones) of Donora; Juanita Larkin-Haney (Timothy Haney, beloved hunting buddy and son) of Donora; James Larkin Jr. of Donora; Iva Larkin of Donora; Matthew Larkin (Amber Larkin) of Belle Vernon; and Cierra Larkin, of Donora. James also has five grandchildren: Timothy Larkin Haney of Miami, Fla.; Brittany Larkin of Miamisburg, Ohio; Richard Larkin of Donora, Zoe Larkin of Belle Vernon and Noah Hernley of Belle Vernon. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Briella Rose Larkin-Nelson of Miamisburg, Ohio; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Richard Larkin; and his eldest daughter, Sharon Larkin. James was the co-pastor of New Testament Holiness Church in Donora and was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. A private funeral service will be held on Monday.
