Two new board members and three incumbents were sworn into office Wednesday at the start of the Elizabeth Forward School Board meeting.
Magisterial District Judge Beth Mills administered the oath of office to newcomers Richard Borkowski and Scott Henry as well as to incumbents Megan Ferraro, Tom Sharkey and Travis Stoffer.
Following the swearing in, Sharkey was once again elected to the position of board president with Ryan Hemminger returning to the position of vice president of the board. Sharkey said he wants to continue to move the district forward as the new year and his new term begins.
“Everything is about our kids and doing what is best for the community,” Sharkey said.
That sentiment was echoed by the other newly seated or reseated board members.
“I’ve been on the board 12 years. Looking back, it’s almost a stark difference. That was two superintendents ago. They are doing so much that I’m proud of. Every year it’s gotten better,” Ferraro said.
