By obits

Mary Ann Goff, formerly of Charleroi, went home to Christ on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019. She was 88 years old. Mary Ann was born on Oct. 17, 1931, to the late Andrew Wilson and Izora Phillips Wilson. She was a graduate of former Marion High School in Fairhope.  Mary Ann worked for the Pennsylvania State Department of Labor and Industry starting as a clerk typist in 1955 and retired as the manager of the Office of Unemployment Claims in 1994. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Belle Vernon where she served as church secretary for more than 20 years. She was an Eastern Star, an active member in her community, and a lifetime member of the Mon-Valley branch of the N.A.A.C.P. Mary Ann was a volunteer at the Charleroi Community Center, where she served over 20 years as a trustee, member of the Marquee committee, The Missionary, and worked tirelessly to build the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association to what it is today. Mary Ann was not only my mother; she was a grandmother, bowler, golfer, and most importantly, a Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Nathan (Mushy) Goff Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Wayne; two sisters, Rebecca Dupree, Izora Caron; two brothers, Andrew and Edgar Wilson; one brother-in-law, Elliot (Finley) Carson; and one sister–in-law, Dorothy Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Nathan Goff III; daughter-in-law, Danielle; two grandchildren, Gabrielle “Gabby” and Nathan Goff; her partner in crime, Koto, the family dog; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers whom she adored. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church, 945 Henry St., Belle Vernon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, in the church, with the Rev. Clifford A. Carter giving the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora PA 15033.
