Angelo’s II does it again with extravagant holiday display

By Stacy Wolford

Angelo’s II — the Mon Valley’s home for viral holiday decorations — has come back with an extra special season’s greeting. Last year, Angelo’s II in Monongahela kicked off its penchant for over-the-top decorations with a 17-foot lit Christmas tree that climbed the corner of the building facing Main Street as an enormous Santa peered down on the town from the roof. In the months that have followed, the Easter Bunny towered over the city and the Monongahela Monster and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man were tamed by the Ghostbusters over Halloween. Now it’s Christmas once again and this time Santa is joined by a sleigh full of penguins, some of which are hanging out near the Christmas tree. The entire scene is so bright and merry, it’s hard to look away and is definitely a sight to see. Owner Ryan Dzimiera of Monongahela says his uncle Peter Dzimiera is usually the mastermind of the decoration designs — he built the Christmas tree and the Monongahela Monster. Anyone who can’t get to Monongahela in person should visit monvalleydrone.com for video of the display.
