A man was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly shooting a woman in Glassport on Thanksgiving, according to Allegheny County Police.

Jonah Kasim Reid, 47, of Glassport, is charged with a single felony count aggravated assault and a misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person.

Glassport police were dispatched around 9 p.m. Thursday to a house on the 600 block of Ohio Street for a report that a woman had been shot, according to a statement from Allegheny County police Sgt. Venerando Costa.

Officers from Glassport found an unidentified 52-year-old woman inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to an area hospital and was last listed in stable condition, according to Costa.

The victim is expected to survive, he said.
