The Zombek Christmas Display, with its 35,000 lights, will be up through Dec. 26, with a major kick-off event this Saturday.
Williamsburg Drive will be closed entirely to vehicular traffic from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday only, as the lights are lit for the first time this year. A free shuttle bus service will be provided from Elizabeth Forward Middle School.
According to homeowner Don Zombek, even Santa is taking a shuttle of sorts to the light-up festivities, coming in promptly at 6 p.m. along with Mrs. Claus on an Elizabeth Township Central Volunteer Fire Department fire truck. Santa will then meet with children to the left of the Zombek driveway at 214 Williamsburg Drive. Family members are welcome to take their own free photos with Santa. Free photos may also be taken from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with the Pittsburgh Pirates Parrot, Stella the Star, Snow Princess and Paw Patrol.
While there are plenty of free events, Zombek noted that the whole purpose of the event is to raise funds for Make-A-Wish.
