The Mid-Mon Valley Model Railroad Club will open its doors to members of the community for its Holiday Open House this weekend.
Beginning Saturday, the club will open to the public from noon to 5 p.m., and continuing on Saturdays and Sundays through Jan. 5, 2020, with Santa expected to make two visits himself on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14.
Guests will be able to watch the model trains make their way through nostalgic settings on the second floor of 159 Main St., New Eagle.
The Holiday Open House tradition began shortly after the club was founded in 1986.
Though the club has called several communities home over the years including North Belle Vernon and Charleroi, members have been diligently developing its track in a former apartment building in New Eagle for the last 20 years.
Each year, residents of all ages fill the apartment building to watch the trains as they pass old memories of the former steel towns along the Monongahela River.
