Robert Charles Persuda -Caldwell, W.Va., formerly of Charleroi

Robert Charles Persuda, 94, of Caldwell, W.Va., formerly of Charleroi, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, in The Brier, Ronceverte, W.Va. Robert was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Charleroi, the son of the late Martin and Mary Beckovsky Persuda. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Robert retired from TCI Cable Co. in 1992. He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish and a member and past Grand Knight of Charleroi Knights of Columbus Council No. 956. Robert is survived by his wife, Virginia Grace Paoly Persuda; two daughters, Diane (Walter) Sheffler of Latrobe and Janet (Kenneth) Miller of Caldwell, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Brandon, Heather and Desiree Sheffler and Sarah, Adam and Andrea Miller. In addition to Robert’s parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Persuda and Doris O’Toole; and his brother, Edward Persuda. Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mary, Mother of the Church, Seventh and Washington Avenue, Charleroi. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
