The Allegheny Regional Asset District announced over the weekend that Mc-Keesport is being granted more than $980,000 to fund operations and capital improvements at Renziehausen Park.
The city is receiving $760,704 in operating funds and $223,500 for capital improvements.
At a public meeting in Pittsburgh, the RAD’s board of directors voted to authorize its 2020 budget of $109.5 million.
For 25 years, RAD has invested in Allegheny County’s quality of life through financial support of public libraries, parks and trails, major regional facilities, arts and cultural organizations, sports and civic facilities, public transit and local municipal services.
Dating back to 1995, the 1% sales and use tax paid by residents of and visitors to Allegheny County has resulted in a nearly $4 billion investment in the region.
“We are proud of this budget and the impact RAD has had on our community for the past 25 years, and we thank the taxpayers of Allegheny County who make it all possible,” board Chairman Daniel J. Griffin said. “Through operating and capital grants, RAD helps to provide a solid foundation for our region’s many assets whose work enhances our quality of life. From parks and libraries to arts and recreation, Allegheny County offers rich and eclectic cultural opportunities for everyone.”
