The West Jefferson Hills School Board is moving forward with construction of a new Thomas Jefferson High
School multipurpose field and athletic facility, and at the board’s work session Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Michael Ghilani revealed three proposals from engineers.

Spec designs of the new field include new turf installation, rainwater management, bleachers and lighting.

The three engineers who have submitted proposals are Eckles Architects, at a proposal cost not to exceed $63,000, ELA Group, Inc.  at a cost of $40,000 and J.T. Sauer and Associates at a cost of $57,000.

Those costs do not include the cost of  new turf installation, and Ghilani said each engineering firm has its preferred turf company.

Ghilani said ELA is attached to artificial turf company FieldTurf, J.T. Sauer and Associates is attached to Shaw Sports Turf and Eckles is independent of any turf company, choosing to have turf suppliers bid against each other.
