The John DiVirgilio Sports Complex, a Rostraver Township staple since its construction in 2001, will undergo extensive renovations thanks to nearly half a million dollars in allocated township funds and grant money.
State Sen. Pat Stefano, R-Bullskin Township, announced recently that $202,000 will be allocated for the youth sports and recreation complex project, and further approved grants for development of parks and trails in Westmoreland, Fayette and Somerset counties.
“Trails and parks are a great way to promote outdoor activity and an appreciation of our natural environment, and can bring the community together for a fun activity,” Stefano stated in a press release. “It is important that the state returns these tax dollars to our communities to help pay for projects that enhance the quality of life.”
