Lorraine Peters LaChapelle – Belle Vernon

Lorraine Peters LaChapelle, 86, of Belle Vernon, passed away Monday, Nov.18, 2019, in Allegheny General Hospital. A daughter of the late Lohr and Carrie Cousins Anderson, she was born in Monessen on Nov. 28, 1932. A resident of Belle Vernon most of her adult life, Lorraine was a member of Hope Center Church, where she attended Bible study. She had many church friends and loved cooking for her family. Lorraine worked in the office at Supervalu for several years prior to her retirement. Survivors include her husband, Joseph LaChapelle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Peters of North Belle Vernon and Paul and Cindy Peters of McDonough, Ga.; one sister, Hazel Perney of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren, Justin Peters and wife Erin of Locust Grove, Ga., and Lauren Heald and husband Ryan of Canton, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Caleigh Peters, Owen Peters and Raegan Heald; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin W. Peters, in 1976. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Jeff Marton officiating. Burial will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park. The officers and members of First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Thursday to pay their respects. Also on Thursday, at 7 p.m., the members of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department will meet to pay their respects.
