Ethel H. Jones, 96, of White Oak, died Nov. 18, 2019, at home. Born in Port Vue, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Gisella Lux Hurst and the wife of the late Jack Jones for over 64 years. Ethel dedicated her life to caring for her family. In her early years, she worked at Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of Port Vue United Methodist Church. Ethel was a former member of both Central Presbyterian and Kephart United Methodist Church. She was a woman of faith and her greatest joy was her family. Ethel is survived by her sons, Russell of White Oak, Kenneth (Sue) of Fayette City, Richard of Pembroke, Fla., and Barry (Terri) of White Oak; grandchildren, Allen, Gary (Lori), Scott, Mark, Eric (Holly), Anna, Jessica, Eric (Bonnie), Jennifer (Matt) and Rudy; great-grandchildren, Carlee, Carson, Shawn, Ricki, Brett, Myles, Aria, Shawn, Ava and Netta; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ethel was also preceded in death by her grandson, Gregory; and brother, Fred Everett Hurst. Family and friends will be received at JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019. At 10 a.m Friday, family and friends will meet at Port Vue United Methodist Church for the funeral service. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
