Paul S. Gaidos, 83, of Monongahela, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Nov. 15, 2019. He was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Monongahela, the son of the late Peter and Eva Jupin Gaidos. Paul retired from being a truck driver after many years and was Catholic by faith. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member and previous officer of the Slovak American Citizens Club in Monongahela. Paul was also a member of the Carroll Township American Legion and the Hoot Owl Athletic Association of New Eagle. He is survived by the love of his life for 36 years, Virginia Merolillo Keenan; son, Philip Gaidos of New Eagle; step-children, Edna (Chris) Steininger of Westerville, Ohio, Linda Keenan of Monongahela, Cindy (Herman) Degler of Delaware, Ohio; Bill (Gloria) Keenan of Carroll Township and Lisa (Dean) Lusk of Carroll Township; a brother, James Gaidos of Carroll Township; a granddaughter, Leeann Jere; and his big buddy and great-grandson, Aaden Jere. He will so be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Pete, Wilbert, Theodore and William Gaidos and one sister, Therese Polak. The family would like to thank OSPTA Home Health and Hospice staff for the loving and compassionate care Paul has received. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Deacon Al Poroda officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township, with military honors by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
