Constance “Connie” J. Sadler – Charleroi

Constance “Connie” J. Sadler, 81, of Charleroi, died Thursday, Nov.14, 2019, in Ohio Valley Hospital. She was born on Sept. 26, 1938, in Monessen, the daughter of the late Joseph and Tressa DeRose Spadafore. Connie grew up in Monessen and was a 1956 graduate of Monessen High School. She was a member of Mary Mother of the Church in Charleroi, where she was a former choir member. Connie was an active person having belonged to the Jokeretts Card Club and formerly to the Catholic BPW, volunteered as a foster grandmother at Head Start in Charleroi, and bowled at the former Star Lanes in Monessen for many years. She loved to play cards, cook, and make trips to Wheeling. Connie retired from the former K-Mart store in Belle Vernon after almost 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barry L. Sadler, in June 2000. Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and John Zavage of South Park; nephew, Col. John J. (Christy) Zavage; two nieces, retired Capt. Lisa Zavage Gies and her husband Lieutenant Col. John J. Geis, retired Capt. Julie E. (Adam) Zavage; and also by nine great-nieces and great-nephews: Alex, Cassidy, and Bridgette Geis, Daniel, Richard, Lucy, Evie, Mary Ann and Rosie Zavage. Connie is also survived by many good friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave, Monessen. Services will be held on Monday beginning with a 9:15 a.m. blessing at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Mary Mother of the Church, Charleroi, with Father Kevin J. Dominik officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
