Whether she’s stepping up to the plate to lead off a game or making a big play at shortstop, Anna Resnik regularly makes her presence felt on the softball field.

The Elizabeth Forward junior was a key asset during the team’s run to a WPIAL championship and PIAA title game appearance last year.

And clearly college programs took notice.

One in particular, however, won Resnik over as she recently verbally committed to continue her academic and softball careers at Robert Morris University.

The Colonials, who play in the Northeast Conference, went 14-37 last year under first-year head coach Jexx Varner.

“It is a great feeling knowing that I get to continue playing softball, while also getting a great education at a wonderful university like Robert Morris,” Resnik said. “I have always wanted to play softball at the collegiate level as long as it was the right fit for me. Plus, it is helping my family and I toward the cost of my education.”
