Patrick W. Gimbara – formerly of Coal Center

Patrick W. Gimbara, 74, formerly of Coal Center, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, in Manor Care Nursing Facility, Parma, Ohio.   A son of the late Walter and Rose Honchalk Gimbara, he was born in North Charleroi on March 17, 1945. He retired from the former Page Steel Company in Monessen. Patrick graduated from Rostraver High School in 1963 and was recently inducted into the Rostraver Football Hall of Fame. He attended Ball State College in Muncie, Ind., where he was a linebacker on the football team. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves, 429th Combat Unit. Survivors include his sister, Kathy Penaherrera of Broadview Heights, Ohio; three nieces, Rosemarie Piroch, Cheryl (Ken) Iselin and Lisa Marie (Terry) Taray; two nephews, Jeff (Lisa) Tisot and Kevin (Ingrid) Tisot; a great-niece, Kelsey Sizemore; and two great-nephews, Rob Warmauth and Sam Taray. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
