Edward Dubnansky, 91, of Fallowfield Township, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Charleroi on Dec. 26, 1927, a son of Stefan and Anna Kuba Dubnansky. He was the youngest and last surviving member of his immediate family. Edward was of Carpatho-Rusyn descent coming from the area of Lemcko. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Edward was retired from the former Corning Glass in Charleroi. He was a member of Corning retirees and was past president of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church’s council, serving in that chair for numerous years. On Sept. 1, 1958, he married the late June Yewvsiak. Edward is survived by three daughters, Mary Jayne (Henry B.) Furio of Rostraver Township, Stefanie (Douglas Jr.) Dean of Fallowfield Township and Amelia Rachel Sargent of Baldwin; six granddaughters, a great-granddaughter, two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and George (Dutch) Dubnansky; and three sisters, Magdeline Dubnansky, Emma Fedora and Margaret Lancy. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, with the Rev. Stephan Gresh officiating. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery. Parastas will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard.
