Willowbrook housing plan gets zoning green light

To continue drawing new residents into Rostraver Township, a contractor is moving toward building 113 more homes in the township.
Steven Victor of Victor-Wetzel Associates gave a presentation on rezoning during a public hearing prior to the commissioner’s business meeting Wednesday night. During the presentation, Victor presented a detailed map of the future home development on the Willowbrook Golf Course.
According to Victor, the golf course is under contract to be purchased by Northwest Land Co., LLC. Half of the proposed developments are designated as single-floor “patio homes” and 39 townhomes. A total of 113 single- family homes will be developed across 72 acres along Rostraver and Willowbrook roads.
The acreage is located in the middle of the township and the development site is surrounded by a series of various zoning.
Presently, the site is designated “A1” zoning, but a request was made by Victor to rezone it to “R1” zoning. Designated “A1” zoning is dedicated to agricultural land and low-density pursuits, while “R1’s” purpose is for single-family residential district maintenance.
Following the hearing, the commissioners approved the rezoning request of the 72 acres for the north side of Rostraver Road and the south side of Willowbrook Road from “A1” to “R1.”
