Gene Vittone is ready for another term as Washington County district attorney.
Vittone, 59, a Bentleyville resident, has served as district attorney since 2012 and was an assistant district attorney for 12 years before that.
He defeated Democratic newcomer Jake Mihalov by more than a 25% margin.
Vittone received 63.4% of the votes, or 28,200, to Mihalov’s 15,805.
“I am so proud of our campaign this cycle,” Vittone said. “I can humbly say we ran a positive campaign, never attacking my opponent, smearing his character or going after things that could have been viewed negatively, which I think is something to be very proud of considering the current political environment.”
