Nonstop lead changes and momentum swings were the theme of Saturday afternoon’s championship match.

But in the end, it was Knoch that dealt the final blow in Thomas Jefferson’s quest to upend the defending WPIAL Class 3A champions, as the Knights clinched the match in four sets on at Fox Chapel Area High School.

The Knights reached their three-peat with a trio of set wins in four sets, after the Jaguars claimed the third (27-25, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20).

“I think our girls played hard and Knoch got a battle, there’s no doubt in my mind,” said Jaguars head coach Ron Kelly.
