Virginia F. Waggett, 91, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. A daughter of the late Humbert and Matilda Kretschmer Peroney, she was born in Pricedale on July 27, 1928. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Virginia was an avid reader, a member of Monessen First United Methodist Church and spent 20 years as a nursing assistant at the former Waddington Personal Care Home. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Franci and John Reed of Lafayette, La., and Sharon and Richard Colaizzi of McMurray; two sons, Robert L. Waggett and Barry D. Waggett, both of Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Waggett on April 23, 1997; a daughter in-law, Jean Waggett on Sept. 4, 2014; a granddaughter, Lisa Weston on Feb.12, 2015; and three brothers, Humbert Peroney during World War II, Kermit Peroney and Leonard Peroney. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will follow at 8:30 p.m. with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating. Inurnment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery at a later date.
