Deborah Elaine Reynolds – MONESSEN

Deborah Elaine Reynolds, 67, affectionately known to most as “Aunt Deb” or “Ms. Debbie,” went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 31. Debbie was the daughter of Rachael (Major) Turner and Frank (Catherine) Rawlins. A lifelong resident of Monessen, Deb never met a stranger. If she knew you, she would “show you some love” and “get you together” if need be. Anyone and everyone she came in contact with she would hug or help you if you ever needed anything, being a second “mom” to many. Debbie was a graduate from Monessen High School in the Class of 1971. Having retired from World Kitchen, formally Corning Glass, in 2014, after 35-plus years where she worked as a production support supervisor, Debbie made sure all of her co-workers were treated equally. If she knew you needed a job, she would make sure you knew when (Corning) World Kitchen was hiring. Debbie loved music, dancing, spending time with family and friends and traveling, especially going to North Carolina to visit with her daughter, Alexis and grandson, Mekhi, whom was the light of her life and her love for him was enduring. Growing up in Monessen, Debbie was a devout member of Wayman A.M.E. Church up until she changed her membership and became a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Monongahela. Continuing to serve, she was an active member of the lay organization and was a trustee board member. In 2016, for her faithful service, Deb was a recipient of the Unsung Hero Award. In addition to her daughter, Alexis Abbott, and grandson, Mekhi Banks, Debbie is survived by her sisters, Jennifer (Richard) Frazier, Kathleen Rawlins and Vicki Kizzie; and brother, Frank (Debbie) Davis; step-mother, Catherine Rawlins; and step-brother and sister, Arthur and Djuna Tansmore. She was loved and adored by her many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed dearly by her “other grandbabies,” Kiara, Donnell and Ilon; her god-children; and many close cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Major and Rachael Turner, and Frank Rawlins. With such strong faith, even during her fight, she raised her hand to God and said “To God be The Glory.” Deb did not want anyone to be saddened by her passing and stated that a funeral service was not what she wanted. One of her favorite songs was “Laughter” (laughter does good, just like medicine), so the family would like to laugh as they celebrate Debbie’s life with close family and friends, as many would have plenty of stories to tell! Family and friends of Deb are being received at 5 p.m. Nov. 22, at St. Vincent de Paul in Monessen. Arrangements were handled by ALDRICH FUNERAL HOME, 431 E. 9th Ave., Munhall.
