Nicholas Charles Ursta – Versailles and White Oak

Nicholas Charles Ursta, 52, of Versailles and White Oak, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019. He was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 29, 1967 and is the son of Geraldine Montgomery Ursta and the late Charles Ursta. He was a fence installer and contractor. Nick was a first responder and EMT for White Oak Rescue Squad for approximately 25 years, and then a firefighter and EMT for Versailles Volunteer Fire Company since 2004. He was a part of all rescue efforts in New York City for the 9/11 tragedy. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, Geraldine, he is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Chabanik Ursta; sisters, Missy Huey of Derry, Kimberly (the late Jason) Mollard of McKeesport; and brothers, Randy and David Ursta both of White Oak; many nieces and nephews; also his furry companion, Rocie. Family and friends will be received at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177, from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 410 Sixth St., McKeesport, PA 15132. Burial will follow.
